New member restrictions

With the new forum comes some new rules for new members ...

In an effort to reduce spam and abuse of our forums, there's a sort of "probation" period for new members. So users will have to be around and post normally for a bit to become a "trusted" member of the community, before being granted full access to all the forums and board's functions/options.

We just want people that want to be here to share and make friends. So until you have become a trusted member (really doesn't take long, but it may vary, so don't ask), just introduce yourself and join in other community discussions and let us get to know you some; you will get past the restrictions in no time

Your profile, avatar and signature

You won't be able to edit any part of your profile at first, that includes avatars and signatures. Once you get past the new/junior member "probation" you will be able to edit your profile and add a signature and avatar if you like. Before then, please do not try to slip in links or "fake signatures" at the bottom of your posts, especially website links and promos; this will just be removed and will probably start you off on a sour note with the moderators.

Private Messages/PM's
New members can receive PM's from Moderators, but cannot reply or send PM's to anyone else until they are past the new member probation.

Specific Forum Restrictions
Some of our forums are restricted and/or blocked to new members. If you have something to share and find that you can't post in the forum you think it should go, don't try to post it somewhere else or it will likely get deleted. Trying to get around these rules is a good way to get off to a bad start here. If you are not sure, you can always contact me or a moderator.

Vendor or not, if you are trying to promote or sell something, you will need to be extra careful what you post and where, especially as a new member, as to not be mistaken for someone just here for their own agenda.

If anyone ever has any questions about these rules or what is ok to post and where, you can always PM a moderator, or you can post your question in a new topic in the FAQ/Q&A forum. Or you can email me at the address mentioned above if you cannot yet use the PM system yet.

And just so everyone is aware; posting random and/or useless posts to build up post count will be seen as abuse and will be dealt with accordingly.
